Anton Lini- Something

Light, innocent sounding R&B with slow Funk drum beats, keyboard harmonies, electric guitar and bass guitar rhythms with a layer of Anton Lini's smooth vocals on 'Something' EP.

This Icelandic singer-songwriter releases this soulful track that is relaxing and intrigeing. What is this special thing she has over her partner? A few words repeatedly sung throughout. Anton Lini was inspired by noughties R&B and his inspirations are Miguel and Tom Misch at the present moment.

Let's continue... There isn't much to analyse on the lyrical front since the lyrics are pretty self-explanatory. The whole song speaks about a young lady who has something special on her partner. She has that "Je ne sais quoi" and that person realises that.

As Anton Lini says “It’s about that special hold a person has over you that you can’t quite put your finger on, but it’s inescapable. You love that person no matter what, even if it might not be good for you.”

A nice melody, with rhythms, beats and simple lyrics take “Something” to a whole new level of sexy, because sometimes all we want is a simple song, where the vocals and melodies etc blend well together. Keeping music simple can be the best. Who agrees?
