A Day of Beats and Grooves at Cross The Tracks Festival 2024

Updated: Jun 3, 2024

What a day we had at the Cross The Tracks festival 2024! It was filled with music, fun, and unforgettable moments (the artist line-up). As a 34-year-old, I felt like a kid again, soaking up every bit of the lively atmosphere. The sun was shining and some drissles of rain, and the crowd was buzzing with excitement.

Our musical journey kicked off with Summer Pearl and Faye Meana and early afternoon with the talented Ife Ogunjobi. His performance was nothing short of magical. When he played "Still Riding" and "No Lie" to name some, the energy was electric. The trumpet sounds were smooth and soulful, and you could see the joy on everyone's faces as they swayed to the music. It was a perfect start to our festival experience.

Seeing Ife perform was like stepping into a whirlwind of music and emotion. His drummer set the pace with lightning-fast beats, while Ife's chants of 'what, what, what, what, what' echoed through the crowd, building anticipation.

With his infectious energy, he got us all hyped up, moving our arms side to side, feeling the rhythm in our bones. When the fast-paced Afrobeats kicked in, we couldn't help but groove, swaying our hips to the infectious rhythm. And then, just when we thought it couldn't get any better, Ife picked up his trumpet, filling the air with soulful melodies that transported us to another world. It was a performance we'll never forget, a moment of pure magic in the midst of the festival chaos.

Later in the afternoon, we were treated to a blast from the past with Eve's performance of "Who's That Girl." The crowd went wild as soon as the first beats dropped. Eve's stage presence was incredible, and her voice was as powerful as ever. We sang along, danced, and felt the nostalgia of the early 2000s. It was one of those moments you wished could last forever.

How does nostalgia music make us feel? Memories of the early 2000s flooded our minds, reminding us of simpler times and carefree days. Nostalgia music has this incredible ability to transport us back in time, evoking emotions and memories we thought were long forgotten.

As the sun began to set, the anticipation grew for the evening performances. The Caveman took the stage, and their unique blend of Afrobeat and soul was mesmerizing. Their rhythmic beats and harmonies created an infectious vibe that had everyone moving. It was impossible not to dance.

Now, Mansur Brown... His guitar skills were out of this world! I mean, seriously, the way his fingers danced across those strings was pure magic. We stood there, mouths hanging open, totally mesmerized by the music pouring out of his instrument. It was like he was speaking to us through his guitar, telling stories with every note.

Then came the grand finale with En Vogue. The excitement was palpable as they started their set at 9 pm. Their performance of "Whatta Man" was a showstopper. The harmonies were flawless, and their stage presence was captivating. They also performed their other hits, each song bringing a wave of joy and nostalgia. The crowd was singing, dancing, and completely immersed in the music.

By the end of the night, we were exhausted but incredibly happy. The Cross The Tracks festival 2024 was a musical adventure that we'll never forget. The performances were top-notch, the atmosphere was vibrant, and the memories we made will last a lifetime. Can't wait for next year's festival!
