I can't believe it's actually half way through January 2015, already? How time flies! My first live music gig of this year.
All the musicians blew me away. The venue itself was great, because you open a glamorous silver ornate style mirror then you enter the small intimate room, which makes the live music event seem personal.
It was packed full of people. Within a few seconds I heard a strong, jazzy soul influenced voice and was amazed when I saw the female singer perform. The crowd was so involved, singing a long sometimes, which seemed like they were a big, united family and immediately I felt a part of the whole experience, vibe and atmosphere.
Then both the hosts had such good humour and big personalities, which grabbed the attention of the audience, who applauded each performer and the house band.
The next performer improvised and was tapping a long as the acoustic guitarist was playing. He started singing, like he was in his own world, and was projecting his natural voice and showed his confidence in each song.
Every time a new performer came on it felt like they drew me in because of their presence, voice and I was blown away by the sheer professionalism, from new and current well established artists, of how they delivered their sound. Melodic. Funky. Quirky beats. Sweep picking and tapping on the guitars, soulful... A mixture of acoustic, soul, RnB and more.
Some of the performers had the audience dancing on their feet and singing a long. Some captivated the audience and some just sang their hearts out.
It's such a great way to hear fresh music. It's a fabulous way to support new and current artists every Monday.
As a long time lover of live music, I think #Sessions58 is one of my favourite music events, so far, to go too and since music is in my blood, I've been to many live music gigs and concerts over the years. I know a thing or two about all this as I organised two small gigs and was involved within a few festivals.
You get a memorable experience. The atmosphere and vibe... One not to be missed!
I'm excited to go next Monday to #Sessions58 plus another way to make new friends. Every Monday at The Looking Glass, 7.30pm- 12am.
